VPS Administrator for 3 Websites

Experienced VPS Administrator Needed for Ongoing Maintenance (3 Production Websites)Project Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced VPS Administrator / Linux Server Engineer to provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, optimization, and security management for our VPS hosting environment.

Our VPS currently hosts only three production websites:
AmericasTechnicianServices.com
TechnicianDispatchServices.com
FSNLeads.com

This is not a full-time position. We need a reliable expert who can proactively manage and maintain the server approximately 1-2 times per month, perform updates, monitor security, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime and performance.

Responsibilities VPS Administration
Server health monitoring
Resource utilization analysis (CPU, RAM, Disk, Network)
VPS performance optimization
Log review and cleanup
Storage management

Security Management
Operating system updates
Security patch management
Firewall configuration and monitoring
Malware and vulnerability scanning
Brute-force protection
SSL certificate monitoring and renewal

Web Hosting Management
Management of Apache/Nginx web services
PHP version management
MySQL/MariaDB optimization
Email service monitoring
DNS verification and troubleshooting

Backup & Disaster Recovery
Verify backup integrity
Test restoration procedures
Implement backup improvements when needed
Maintain disaster recovery readiness

Troubleshooting
Investigate website outages
Resolve server performance issues
Diagnose email delivery problems
Handle DNS and SSL-related issues
Provide emergency support when necessary

Reporting
Monthly maintenance summary
Security recommendations
Performance recommendations
Documentation of completed work

Required Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
5+ years of Linux VPS administration experience
Strong experience with Ubuntu and/or CentOS servers
Expert-level knowledge of:
Linux command line
Apache and/or Nginx
MySQL/MariaDB
PHP environments
DNS management
SSL certificates
Firewall configuration
Server security hardening
Experience managing production websites
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
WHM/cPanel experience
Cloudflare experience
VPS optimization experience
Website migration experience
Laravel hosting experience
Experience supporting small business production environments

Engagement Structure
Ongoing monthly relationship
Approximately 1-2 maintenance sessions per month
Additional work available for emergency issues and future projects
Looking for a long-term partner, not a one-time freelancer
