WORDPRESS DEVELOPER — JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
You’re building a high-traffic, multi-initiative ecosystem. This developer must be sharp, fast, and able to take incomplete ideas and turn them into functional, secure, scalable WordPress deployments. No hand-holding. This role supports the entire Communyti / Advertising For Free ecosystem, including landing pages, membership flows, e-commerce components, directories, and API integrations with Zoho, Cyclos, and internal voucher systems.
Core Responsibilities
Custom WordPress Development
Build, optimize, and maintain WordPress sites for multiple initiatives.
Create custom themes and child themes.
Develop custom plugins or modify existing ones without breaking core functionality.
Ensure everything is mobile-optimized and loads fast.
Systems Integration
Integrate WordPress with Zoho One (CRM, Books, Creator), BrilliantDirectories, Cyclos, and payment gateways.
Implement API connections for voucher systems, membership authentication, and automated workflows.
Sync user accounts and transactions across platforms with minimal friction.
Site Architecture & Performance
Optimize hosting, caching, speed, and database performance.
Harden security, manage backups, and ensure uptime.
Reduce plugin bloat and streamline site operations.
Design-to-Development Execution
Convert Figma or AdobeXD layouts into clean, responsive WordPress builds.
Handle CSS, HTML, and JavaScript styling/interaction as needed.
Maintain brand consistency across all pages.
Workflow Automation
Implement triggers, actions, CRON jobs, webhooks, and workflows that tie WordPress into the operational systems of the company.
Build dashboards or internal pages for staff, agents, and merchants as needed.
Technical Support & Scaling
Troubleshoot bugs, hosting issues, plugin conflicts, and user experience problems.
Build scalable structures for multi-city, multi-initiative expansion.
Manage staging environments and version control (Git preferred).
Required Skills
Expert-level WordPress development (custom themes + custom plugins).
Strong PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Deep experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar page builders.
Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, and authentication flows.
Knowledge of best practices in SEO, performance optimization, and security.
Experience with CRM integrations (Zoho highly preferred).
Ability to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines.
Preferred Experience
Worked on high-volume directories, community platforms, or multi-site networks.
Experience integrating barter, credit, or voucher systems.
Experience with WooCommerce and custom checkout flows.
Ability to collaborate with graphic designers, CRM specialists, and executive leadership.
