WordPress Website Architecture & Performance Audit (Rebuild vs Optimize)

Description:
We’re looking for a senior-level WordPress developer/architect to evaluate our existing website (trinityis.com) and provide a clear, unbiased assessment of its architecture and performance.

The site is currently built on WordPress. This engagement is for evaluation and recommendations only — not an immediate rebuild.

Scope of Work:

    1. WordPress Architecture Review

      • Review current WordPress setup (theme, plugins, custom code, hosting environment)

      • Assess whether the site should:

        • Remain on WordPress with optimization, or

        • Be rebuilt on a different framework (and why)

      • Provide framework/platform comparisons only if a rebuild is justified

    2. Performance & Speed Analysis

      • Identify performance bottlenecks (hosting, theme, plugins, scripts, images, etc.)

      • Review Core Web Vitals and SEO-related performance factors

      • Explain root causes, not just surface metrics

    3. Actionable Recommendations

      • Clear, prioritized steps to improve performance

      • Short-term optimizations vs long-term structural changes

      • High-level effort/complexity estimates for recommended actions

        Deliverables:

        • Written audit/report (PDF and Word documentation)

        • Clear recommendations with pros/cons

        • Optional walkthrough call to review findings

          Required Experience:

      • Strong experience with WordPress architecture and performance optimization

      • Experience evaluating when WordPress is appropriate vs when a rebuild makes sense

      • Familiarity with Core Web Vitals and SEO performance

      • Ability to communicate findings in plain English

        Nice to Have:

      • Experience with headless WordPress, Next.js, or modern front-end frameworks

      • Experience auditing B2B or SaaS marketing sites

Project Type: One-time engagement (with potential follow-on work)

Please answer the following question in your response: In your experience, what are the most common causes of poor WordPress performance, and when do you typically recommend a rebuild instead of optimization?
