• Evaluate the database requirements for software applications and products in close co-ordination with various teams. • Recommend server, storage and third party software requirements/enhancements for databases. • Design and build database structures that best supports operational and applications data requirements. • Setup Oracle Server/Client, Grid Control, third party software remotely on Unix/Linux/Windows using Hummingbird Exceed. • Develop databases configuration and create standards through scripts or detailed steps using tools. • Plan and deploy the databases backup and recovery strategy using Logical backups (Exp/Imp, Data Pump), Physical backups using RMAN with Net Backup scripts. • Implement and support Physical/Logical standby databases and Data Guard. • Administer Grid control for centrally managing all the critical databases & troubleshoot. • Oracle partitioning for improved operation and performance optimization of large tables. • Analyse, evaluate and recommend the performance optimization solutions for production systems using AWR, ADDM, ASH, Grid Control, Toad, Top etc. • Assist in performance evaluation and optimization for SQL, PL/SQL, and Batch Jobs to Development teams. • Develop and implement the Oracle database monitoring and alerting scripts/tools for databases/file systems through customized scripts, Cron jobs, Grid control etc. • Plan, build and implement the steps for databases refresh from Production to Test/QA and make process more efficient and error proof. • Ongoing databases upgrade for standalone and two instance RAC databases from 9i to 10g & 10g to 11g on Unix/Linux for hundreds of databases sizing from few GB to Terabytes on multiple servers across various platforms. • Databases patching for single/multi instance databases for patch bundles, CPU. • Plan, define steps and perform the huge databases migration for Production/Test/Dev environments. • Tro
