Most of them come from unlikely backgrounds but what sets them apart is the fact that they have the zeal and guts to fight for what they believe in and are not easily put down by the negativity surrounding them. These are people who strive their entire lives to make the world a better place to live in for everyone. One of these people is the president of the United States of America, Mr Barack Hussein Obama. He has a passionate and undying love for his country of origin,Kenya. He proved to the entire world that having faith in oneself,confidence and a strong sense of belief can make one achieve their goals and reach their dreams. Thus, the "yes we can" legacy was born. He had a vision to boost the US economy and also fight for the rights of the minority. During his first weeks of office, many doubted his ruling skills but he managed to shun all his critics and proved them wrong. I got qualitative advice and a high level of cooperation and support from each of the supervisors. Apart from that they shared with me a lot of knowledge which helped me gain a better understanding of the organization's operations and activities. The chance to interact with people who are both sociable and competent in their area of specialty was a marvelous exposure. The atmosphere in my department was very good. I was able to work well with both fellow interns and the organizations staff, which helped the fun factor to be high besides the work, skills we exchanged as well as the challenges we encountered. In general, there was a very friendly tone of communication and cordial working relationship between us (the interns) and the staff of the organization. FINANCE AND INVESTMENT DEPARTMENT NHIF being an organization that collects contributions from members manages the fund on their behalf reimburses them when the need arises and pays their hospital claims. Therefore, the finance and investment department is an important department for the organization as far as fund collection, management and reimbursement is concerned. Divisions in Finance $ Control Department. During my attachment I went through the following divisions in finance and control Directorate. 1. Ledger Manual filing of vouchers and receipts. Electronic filing of vouchers and receipts. Confirmation of electronic fund transfer. Verification of insurance claims through the ledger system. Receiving paid up vouchers from the cash office and from area offices. Verification and documentation of vouchers. Receiving revenue receipts from the revenue office and area offices. Preparation of financial statements 2. Revenue , Debtors $ M-pesa Revenue Separating of banking slips and vouchers from area offices Arranging of bank slips according to area offices from which they were received Tabulation of c
