Alvin Bing Wins Open Blitz Chess Champio

Doha: Alvin Bing of the Philliphines won the Open Blitz Chess Championship title at the third edition of the tournament, organised by the Qatar Chess Training Centre under the supervision of the Qatar Chess Federation.


The Championship saw the participation of 63 players. 


Bing clinched the title with 5 and a half points, leaving second place to his compatriot Ryan Mendoza, and the Philippine domination continued after the player Lopesan de Goya came in third place.


The fourth place was achieved by Indian Elaine Tom.


The fifth place went to Ali Muhammad, and the Egyptian Asaad Abu Al Atta succeeded in obtaining the sixth place while Khaled Al Khulaifi won the best Qatari player in the tournament and came in seventh place in the overall standings.

India's Amulya Guruprasad clinched the under-16 title.


After the end of the competitions, the winners were crowned with trophies and trophies.


For his part, Yousef Muhammad Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the Qatar Chess Federation, said that the tournament was on time and witnessed great excitement among the participants, and this clearly started with the convergence of points at the end of the competitions, pointing out that the tournament received a wide echo and interest from all participants.


He added,“The Qatar Federation is keen to hold various activities and events on a continuous basis, especially since this matter has several positives, including expanding the game further in Qatar, noting that this tournament witnessed the presence of a new champion with the Filipino Fen Ping winning the title, where the champion of the first version was the Algerian player. Jamal Ferhi, while the second edition was achieved by the Mauritanian Sidi Bideh, and this confirms that everyone has the determination to win the championship, and the proof is to see a different champion in each edition.
