Amazon Prime Air Delivery

Amazon stated that in order to implement this feature, it is cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration, the local government and the community in Lockford.

As reported by MSN , the e-commerce company reported that 3,500 people living in the town of Lockford, located in rural San Joaquin County, will be among the first to have their Amazon Prime packages delivered by drone.

Amazon believes that its drones' ability to sense and avoid aircraft and other obstacles is what sets it apart from competitors who are also trying to break into the market for drone delivery.

According to Amazon , the company has created "an advanced, industry-leading sense and avoidance system that will enable operations without visual observers and allow our drone to operate at greater distances while safely and reliably avoiding aircraft, people, and other pets from obstacles."
