Dwayne Johnson urges Maui natives and workers to 'stay strong' amid deadly wildfire: 'Heartbroken but our faith and mana is strong'

Dwayne Johnson urged natives and workers in wildfire-stricken Maui to 'stay strong' on Sunday in an Instagram clip addressing the deadly blaze that has killed at least 93 people and decimated a town.

The 51-year-old superstar addressed the situation in an Instagram clip to his 388 million followers posted Sunday, saying he was 'completely heartbroken' over the events, while pointing his fans to the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation for relief effort donations.

The wrestler-turned-actor, who spent a part of his upbringing in Hawaii, said in the clip, 'Hi everybody: I know that by now all of you around the world have seen the complete destruction and devastation that has hit our Hawaiian islands - our island of Maui.

'And I'm completely heartbroken over this and I know all of you are too.'

The Black Adam actor said he has been keeping up with developments on the islands, where residents have been evacuated both into nearby hotels and off the islands in the wake of the wildfire.

The latest: Dwayne Johnson, 51, urged natives and workers in wildfire-stricken Maui to 'stay strong' on Sunday in an Instagram clip addressing the deadly blaze that has killed at least 93 people and decimated a town.

'Everything that I've seen transpire over these past couple of days, everything that continues to transpire hour-by-hour, minute-by-minute, it's all heartbreaking,' Johnson said. 

The A-lister sent his gratitude for people who have been keeping watch and providing resources amid the grave situation in Maui.  

'Thank you guys around the world for all of your love and your support, your light, your prayers,' he said. 'Thank you for sending them to the islands of Hawaii, the people of Hawaii.'

Johnson said he's been 'speaking with organizations on the ground who have boots on the ground' and 'will continue to get as much information as possible' to people amid the calamitous situation, as 'there's so many needs' to meet.

Johnson also shared his feelings in a caption in the post that featured the clip, saying, 'Heartbroken but our faith and mana is strong.'

He sent his best wishes to the people in the trenches amid the troubled times.

'First responders, health care teams, hotels, locals businesses, boots on the ground organizations and all our local heroes, stay strong - we love you and appreciate you,' he said. 'All our local families, our ohana, our aiga, stay strong thru this devastating time.'

Johnson wrapped up his post in saying, 'Resilience resolve is our DNA. Our ancestors are in our blood. This is who we are. This is what we do. I love you. Stay strong. More to come.
