52-year-old Dan Rapoport was discovered dead outside 2400 M Apartments on August 14th. According to DC police, he was a resident there and died after jumping off the building.

When he was discovered dead, he was carrying $2,620 in cash, a phone, headphones, and a keyring with a lanyard.

Initially, it was said that he released his dog before killing himself and leaving a suicide note.

Rapoport was vocal in his condemnation of Putin and the conflict in the Ukraine, but his widow claims that is untrue and that no such note was ever sent.

Additionally, he had been venting to pals about how a Russian fund had taken advantage of him.

Rapoport sent a harrowing farewell note on Facebook for Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now three days before he passed away.
