Several years of news reporting and writing has given me a sharp ear for telling quotes and an eye for the details that make a story worth reading. I not only have a reputation for accuracy and the other basic components of good journalism, but the willingness to work hard. I know the importance of clear, concise writing and editing as well as style and meeting even the toughest of deadlines. I can research technical subjects and write 1,000 words on them in less than a day.I am also interested in grant writing to take my experience in local journalism to the nonprofit sector where I can use my investigative and communication skills to more deliberately build strong communities.
