Experience translators predominantly work with business, technical, legal and scientific written materials including letters, reports, articles, books and so on. These would incorporate: 1. Reading documents 2. Writing and editing copies 3. Using software and bespoke applications to upload content, if required by a client 4. Preparing summaries 5. Consulting with experts in a specialist field, if required 6. Developing contacts and building relationships with clients. 7. Ability to work to deadlines 8. The ability to grasp new concepts quickly, eg technical terms 9. A clear writing style with an impeccable knowledge of spelling and grammar 9. Attention to detail 10. Fluency in at least two foreign languages 11. IT skills 12. The ability to build good relationships with clients.
