Leighton Bovee, is a left/right brainer design thinking strategist. Leighton is most known as the friendly and outgoing handy man, chemical engineer, welder, and mechanic. He has a great eye for detail and a heart for adventure. When faced with adversity he overcomes the challenge in unique ways. Hard work and resolve have shaped his life from digging ditches on the family farm at age 7 to working 80 hour workweeks back to back to make sure the highest quality product was delivered. He has proven the ability to quickly adapt to situations and fulfill more than was expected. Recent examples of exceeding expectations is how he answered the question, how can a plant be scaled up from a single centrifuge process, to a full scale plant running over 36 times the size, and provide a CAPEX and OPEX for the operation? He answered this question, collaborating with the team to integrate the other connecting processes. He developed everything for the process plant from the PFDs to the plant drawings, performing the engineering calculations on it from the conveyors to the slurry pumping. He then took on building and maintaining the costing database that saved the client time and $10k each time a new revision had to be created. Another question he tackled was how to build a corral with limited space, and materials on site, using unskilled non-English speaking labor? This was answered by laying out a detailed plan to efficiently use the space. A cheap source of railing was found to reduce the overall cost. He developed a plan to train the laborers in different tasks according to their ability using the Spanish learned in Argentina. Leighton is a well-rounded individual who takes pride in being a renaissance man. His diverse education and experience has prepared him to tackle various problems and come up with polished solutions. He is currently focusing on winning a job in a promising company that has proven itself, with a track record.
