Summary Sundas Syeda is a dynamic young woman with ten years of experience in the Development sector. Thematically, her interests are Peace Building/Countering Violent Extremism, Gender Inclusive Police Reforms, Capacity Building in Governance and Media with national and international donors, a special emphasis on “Content Development, Analysis, and Trainings.” She has remained involved in development of Tools and Methodologies for Surveys, Analyses, Literature Reviews under various media related and other initiatives. She has actively participated in conducting primary and secondary research on mainstream as well as "jihadi media." In addition to penning down articles, she has also developed content for Comics, Brochures, Story Books, Documentaries, Audiomentaries, Banners, Pamphlets, Broachers, Ads, Billboards, Stickers, PSAs, PSMs, and Scripts for Theater. Sundas has a good understanding of applied research and has facilitated and moderated Focused Group Discussions (Fgds), Sensitization Sessions and Trainings on women inclusive Police Reforms, Countering Violent Extremism, Free Independent and Responsible Media, Human Rights, Youth Activism, Civic Responsibility and Social Development. She was involved in mapping exercises to map the presence of militant groups in and around the country and assisted in development of database of Militant organizations (banned orgs) and accompanied by the program team analyzed the various communication tools used by such groups. She has also worked on other similar peace building initiatives including mapping the presence of gang members, victims, and mothers of victims in vulnerable areas of Karachi, peace heroes from KP, Balochistan and Sindh and has written the script for documentaries, audio-mentaries and story books. Recently she is monitoring social media accounts of people of extremist groups and contributing analysis content/ posts by them. She has to her credit over seventeen publications and training manual and modules on media, police reforms, and countering violent extremism. She is presently associated with Individualland Pakistan in addition to her independent consulting assignments for various organizations.
