I’m DeLano McVay, a 17-year U.S. Coast Guard veteran, published author, and Accredited Small Business Consultant (ASBC®), now using my voice and experience to empower others through storytelling, digital products, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. My mission is rooted in veteran advocacy, specifically focused on PTSD awareness, mental health support, and resource accessibility for both veterans and their families. Through my brand, The Informed Vet, I’ve built a multimedia platform that includes:

A free introductory guide, Ground Zero: A Veteran’s Guide to Starting the Healing Process, used to attract and support those taking their first step toward healing
As a creative and strategist, I’ve also published a fiction series, Nito Nuro, inspired by African mythology and infused with deep themes of identity, conflict, and power. It’s part of an evolving literary universe that includes story-driven spin-offs, a 3D coloring book edition, and character guides, all designed to build engagement while exploring culture and heroism in a unique way.

My standard working hours are Monday–Friday, 9AM to 6PM EST.
