My writing and editing background goes back to 1989, when I began working for small presses in Southern California, writing feature articles and editing press releases. It was in these jobs that I learned the importance of being deadline oriented and of never making a promise I couldn't keep. I acquired excellent research and editing skills. I left the newspaper business to enter the field of high tech. For the past ten years, I have worked as a UNIX Systems Administrator, gaining a keen understanding of data center optimization, internet-based business best practices and software development lifecycles. In every high tech job I've worked, documentation was a part of my job. I have written user manuals, test plans, procedures documents, troubleshooting guides, knowledge bases, white papers, proposals and help systems.
