My specialty is rapid creation of applications in MS Office+VBA platform. I also excel at web scraping and processing large amounts of local data in Perl. I first learned those technologies while working for a financial institution. I am a "journeyman" web developer. I have created web applications using Ruby on Rails and also Drupal (with OpenAtrium + custom PHP programming). I have experience with jQuery. I know my HTML+CSS, although I'm not a graphical wizard. Usability is my hobby and it shows in my programs. I realize the importance of an easy-to-use, transparent interface. In my work at the bank I have also been on the 'customer' side of an IT project. I worked with an external system provider in the business analysis and testing stage of a large IT project.
