Over the last two years I have been involved with several different types of projects while employed at an university and a financial institution. They include web-based tools to client/server applications. I have written a web-based time-off requester that allows employees to request time off, other employees to take the time or even split the time and a manager to approve/deny the time swap. Just recently I finished a complex client/server application that queries a mySQL database and builds a CSV report of the results. The project was complex because the queries are running off tables that totals to over 2 billion rows of financial data. The server had to query multiple tables and match up the data base on date/time and could have a +/- x second window of allowed time skew. In addition, it had multiple filters that could be applied to the search to narrow down specific date/times.
