An accomplished professional with 20 years of experience in the Design / Print / Publishing industry.
Currently I am freelancing, after completing a 6 month contract at MySmartBuy.com producing and administrating newspaper adverts and web graphics.
In my last long term permanent role at MPP ltd, I was Production Editor for Cleaning & Hygiene Today, Flooring, Facilities Management Journal and FMJobfinder magazines from April 2002 to April 2009. I gained a great deal of experience in magazine design, page layout, photo editing, project management, typography, budgeting, print buying and preparation for print. I was also required to chase artwork and editorial material from internal departments, as well as advertisements from external clients and agencies, in order to meet deadlines.
Prior to MPP, my role at Printwell UK Ltd was as an Artworker/Typesetter for a busy commercial printing company. My duties included designing corporate stationery, logos, posters, booklets, leaflets, setting forms etc. for a wide variety of clients including Reed Business Publishing, Pizza Hut, Oddbins, Securicor, Rentokil and many more. As there was a high turnover of work at a rapid pace at Printwell, I was able to consistently utilise my proof-reading skills and scrupulous eye for detail.
Before finding employment in the Design/Publishing industry I worked at the Home Office Immigration & Nationality Department as a Messenger administrating the receipt and delivery of classified immigration/asylum files. This role provided plenty of experience in using official database systems and liaising with many individuals and departments within a large government department.
