In the simple example shown below we helped a client that had an existing product that relied on a remote daughter board to lower cost and increase reliability. We eliminated the LED daughter board, a ribbon cable and 4 connectors from the product by simply relocating the LED's to the bottom side of the main PCB. The original design relied on a non-keyed connector that was often inadvertently connected the wrong way.
