We recently completed a DSP project for a commercial communication system that previously utilized 128 separate PIC microcontrollers that were spread over multiple boards. The 128 microcontrollers were replaced with a single 300MFLOP DSP, dramatically reducing; the size, cost, power requirements and complexity of the device while significantly enhancing performance and reliability. The IP for this device was sold to a fortune 500 corporation.
