Smart phones nowadays have the capability to shoot images or videos at Full HD, whereas the viewing experience of the same is different when viewed through a big Full HD TV panel and small displays from smartphones. The multimedia content from smart phone can be streamed using DLNA. The challenge is on running a DLNA server on a smart phone the battery runs out really fast due to extensive media processing. To solve this problem, we set up a light weight ftp server on smart phone and Panda board was used as a DLNA server. A C program was written to fetch the multimedia content using ftp protocol from smart phone and feed to DLNA server at pandaboard.
