I am an experienced economist with extensive experience in macroeconomic analysis, financial stability, global economics, regional economic integration, financial sector development and real sector economic analysis. I have worked mostly at the Research and Financial Stability Department of the Central Bank of Namibia. I have lead and contributed immensely to completing various projects such as the financial stability reports, research papers for internal and external stakeholders, presentations on topical economic and financial stability issues. I have presented reports and papers to the Monetary Policy Committee and the Financial System Stability Committee. At the regional level, I have presented papers and reports to the Committee of Central Bank Governor’s in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). In 2013, I was seconded to the World Bank’s Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Department (PREM) in Washington. I have served in the Experts committee on reviewing the macroeconomic convergence criteria of the Association of African Central Banks appointed by the Governors of African Central Banks and have 25 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis and policy, financial sector development and stability as well economics of regional integration principally in Southern Africa. I hold a Master of Science in Economics and a Bachelor’s in Economics. I have also completed many short term trainings such the Financial programming and policies of the IMF, Overview of financial sector issues, economic analysis of projects, macro prudential supervision and systemic risks amongst others. I also have experience as Acting Deputy Director in the Research and Financial Stability Department of the Central Bank of Namibia. In particular, I have acted in the Divisions called Macro models and Financial Stability for 3 months and the Policy Research and International Affairs for 3 months. During these periods, I was responsible for managing staff ranging from 7 to 8 economists of which 60 percent hold Masters degrees. I have participated in the Senior Management and management development programs of the University of Stellenbosch business school to hone my leadership and management skills and also in the project management program of the same institution. In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, I also hold a Certificate in Investment analysis and portfolio management and postgraduate diploma in foreign trade management, I have experience as a part time lecturer in public finance, international finance and economics of growth and development at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). I have also served as a part time Tutor marker at the Namibian College of Open learning in the course on economics for local government practitioners.
