I'm interested in work that involves writing, editing, and research on a contract or hourly basis. I have a B.A. in English Literature and Japanese Studies from the University of Michigan, and am currently working on a Ph.D. in Japanese literature at UCLA. I have approximately 10 years of experience writing and conducting research at the collegiate/post-graduate level. I was accepted into a Ph.D. program at the age of 22 based on the strength of my writing, I have taught writing to undergraduate students, and I have also edited manuscripts and papers for fellow graduate students. Apart from my background in writing and editing, I have also worked for several years as a researcher for the Metadata Department of UCLA's Digital Collections Library. This, combined with my experience writing essays and papers on various topics I researched myself, makes me an excellent candidate for any job involving writing based on original research.
