Having completed a Bachelor of Writing & Editing with a High Distinction average in 2012, I have been working in the publishing industry for the past two years, freelancing with my own publishing support business and more recently as a Digital Editor in the shared publishing platform at travel publisher Lonely Planet. In 2013 I also worked casually for Month9Books, a YA speculative fiction publisher, as a submissions reader and proof reader. I primarily edit fiction manuscripts for independent authors and small presses, from proof reading to copy editing and structural editing complete with 5-12 page in-depth editorial reports. Some of my editing clients include USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Julia Crane and C.J. Duggan whose ITunes and Amazon best-selling Boys of Summer trilogy I structurally edited to great success. I edit on screen through Microsoft Word's tracked changes and comments in margins, analysing your novel at both the micro level (weren't his eyes blue?) and macro level for internal logic. My end goal as your editor it help you create the best book you can. I want to inspire my authors, to light the creative fires within again and help you craft an end product that you can be proud of. To that end, my edits are thorough, I ask a lot of questions in the comments in order to push you to think of your characters and scenarios in ways perhaps you hadn't before, to be sure that what you have written is the best, most interesting way of tackling the topic, not just the only thing you thought of.
