Editor

$35/hr Starting at $35

Refine your work with an edit that reviews grammar, content, clarity and style. I can edit your blogs, articles, short stories/novellas, white papers, business proposals, editorials, newsletters and more. As a veteran journalist I am a detailed editor who uses AP Stylebook guidelines, but I can edit using the Chicago Manuel of Style. I also think it's noteworthy that after having worked in broadcasting for many years, I developed a very conversational style of writing which can helpful for some editing projects. I also understand tight deadlines and a quick turn-around. The editing process will vary from work to work. Some pieces will require multiple edits and discussion, while others will need only one. The Process: 1. First Read. I read the piece in its entirety to understand the content. 2. Content and Clarity. During the second read through I make sure the piece flows properly. I will check for redundancies that may bog down the work. It's here I may suggest you rearrange paragraphs or include additional information to improve clarity or flow. 3. Grammar Check. Next, I go line by line to look for grammatical errors. I check for typos, misspelled words, grammar and punctuation. 4. Fine tuning. The work then is returned to you so can review my suggestions, make any changes of your own and ask questions about my edits. 5. Final edit. This involves a last read through and grammar and punctuation check. We can work together to find what best suits your needs to ensure your project reaches its full potential.
