Elon Musk. Twitter

$20/hr Starting at $25

As of April 20, the blue checkmarks on the social media platform of accounts that do not have a Twitter Blue subscription were removed. Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, gave money to three celebrities out of his pocket.

Musk announced that he paid the Twitter Blue fee of $ 8 a month on behalf of some celebrities.

Tech billionaire, NBA star LeBron James, who had previously reacted to the subscription price, announced that he paid for the accounts of the famous writer Stephen King and William Shatner, famous for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek (Star Trek).

LeBron James, in his tweet on March 31, said that he would not give the money by saying "who knows me".

King had negotiated with Musk at the end of October for the fee for Twitter Blue. The Twitter CEO subsequently reduced the subscription fee from $20 to $8.

After hearing that the checkmark would be removed, Shatner also reacted to Musk.

A pop culture account on Twitter using the name Pop Base wrote that Musk covered the subscription fees of some celebrities.

The billionaire businessman replied that he only paid James, King and Shatner.

Musk, in his tweet, said, "My Twitter account says I subscribed to Twitter Blue. I didn't. My Twitter account says I gave a phone number. I didn't." He replied, "It's okay, namaste."
