Lists are one of Excel's most basic yet powerful tools. From lists of personal contacts to multi-column product lines, lists of students or employees, Excel lists can play a vital role. It's amazing how many ways there are to get list information into Excel. For example, lists can be brought in from your old phone contact lists, or can be grabbed from a whole range of text files such as .TXT or ,CSV and even .PDF formats. The internet is also a huge source of list material and Excel has some great features for importing direct from web pages. Data mining projects are ideally suited to Excel.
