As a student of language and communication I gained insight in the use of language in a broad variety of communicative situations. I acquired the analytical, critical and creative skills that are needed to understand, assess and produce communication, both in oral and written form. I learned how to use language as a tool to effectively reach different goals.

As a student of Dutch language and culture I learned how to thoroughly read and write in my native language Dutch, but also in English. I was taught to understand how different people perceive the same communication, depending on their motivations and background.

In my masters I had another two years to perfect these skills and use them to write a thesis on improving literature education on Dutch high schools using the method of formative assessment.

Throughout my studies I have worked as a proofreader for theses in all kinds of fields on a BA and a MA-level. On the side I have done some projects involving translation from Dutch to English and vice versa. Recently I joined a project where I support teachers in giving constructive feedback to high school students, concerning all their writing assignments.

Based on this knowledge and experience, I offer services in proofreading, editing, copywriting, creative writing and translating.
