My illustrations are in an unusual fine art style. a blend of realism/ accuracy with an engaging energy and imagination. They are designed to catch and hold the young (and old) persons imagination, not to answer all the questions about every little detail but to allow for a bit of mystery reflected in a child's or animal's expression, a moment that we might otherwise miss if we are in a hurry. I am currently illustrating educational materials for the Aquarium of the Bay and building exhibits for the Berkeley Marina Shorebird Nature Center. My Illustrations of owls and raptors are displayed at the California Raptor Center Museum, a wildlife hospital of the University of California in Davis. I also enjoy drawing fantastic, unusual creatures whether they are earthbound, such as hedgehogs or puffer fish, or more imaginative creatures inspired by ancient cultures or taken from myths and legend.
