I love to write -- and I'm good at it. I offer writing (both content writing and copywriting) and editing services in a variety of fields -- primarily, but not limited to: science, health, technology, business, and policy. I am a detail-oriented writer and editor. My freelance clients have included Johnson and Johnson, the United States Army, think tanks, tech companies, CEOs, professors, lawyers, and others in academia, industry, and government. My specialties include: - Summarizing highly complex and/or technical content to make it accessible to a general audience - Conducting literature research in biomedical science and writing academic journal articles - Performing general internet research to write the most informative and authoritative web content - Crafting engaging, informative, and unique copy for websites (e.g., landing pages, blog posts, product descriptions), flyers, eBooks, Powerpoint presentations, technical documentation, white papers, and other documents - Writing web content which incorporates Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices - Copyediting all kinds of documents (blog posts, grants, technical documentation, etc.) depending on your organization's needs - Interviewing experts and writing reports and/or blog posts based on the discussion I'm a scientist and policy nerd by trade. I have over 10 years of education and research in the field of cognitive neuroscience, which has allowed me to hone my writing skills. I also have several years of experience in policy and legislative research. I earned my MS from Georgetown University School of Medicine and a BS from MIT. I began freelance writing after earning my Masters in 2013, starting my career pitching articles to the Motley Fool and Georgetown McDonough Business School. I also completed a 2.5 month stint as a Capitol Hill intern where I briefed staff on important topics of the day and wrote and compiled a training manual for new interns. Working on Capitol Hill taught me to work fast - I attended several briefings each week, and wrote summaries of each briefing within the next hour. Finally, I am a published author in an academic journal and have co-authored several publications as a scientist. My academic publications have been cited over 200 times. I would love to help your organization move forward with quickly delivered and well-crafted documents. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any inquiries.
