I am considered by my clients to be a well-rounded and responsive writer/translator, whose strength lies in my flair for languages and for smooth flowing, expressive language.As a teacher and academic, I have travelled widely and have spent long periods in Japan (in Kyushu and Tokyo), Berlin, Paris, Nice and London. I began to translate (Japanese-English) and write copy professionally in Tokyo, working freelance for an agency producing sustainability reports for companies such as Japan Rail. I am a published author of academic texts and have a Master's degree in Japanese Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, as well as language certificates in Japanese. I am completely fluent in French and have recently undertaken translation projects ad-hoc for the Town Hall and Tourist Office in Marseille, as well as working to promote U.S. artists and Japanese Noh theatre here in Provence. I have also worked as a TEFL teacher and a tour guide, and have written extensive and well-used materials for travel agencies and other tour managers.
