The European Commission's platform was born weak, whose idea came to unite efforts to buy natural gas by EU countries. 

It appears that the return to the platform 4 months after its construction is being worked on by the Commission, which wants to be mandatory to join it, and to purchase any contracts under its umbrella in an attempt to buy natural gas at discounted prices.

The EU is therefore looking to impose mandatory cooperation on gas purchases; Brussels believes that requiring member states to make joint purchases would lower prices, but the bloc's companies are skeptical.

The story, as detailed in the Financial Times, is that Brussels wants to force member states to nominate energy companies to join a region-wide platform for joint gas purchases as part of measures aimed at lowering energy prices across the 27-nation bloc.
