I have earned grants totaling over $24 million for my employers and clients, who have included state and local governments, schools, colleges, workforce investment boards, clinics and private nonprofit organizations ranging in size from a few to hundreds of employees. I have had a lead role in grant awards for projects and programs in education, urban planning, health, juvenile justice, economic development, substance abuse prevention, youth development, and public works. Funds from these grants have funded capital improvements, new initiatives, operations, planning and research. I have 22 years of experience in writing that also includes scripts, speeches, and documentaries. I am a published author and hold a Masters degree in economics. I have served as the president of a nonprofit organization and sat on citizens advisory boards and a city planning commission.
