Today, Saturday, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights condemned Israel's decision to build thousands of settlement units in the occupied West Bank, at a time when the Israeli Supreme Court approved the displacement of hundreds of Palestinians from their lands in Hebron, in consecration of the apartheid regime run by the occupying state in light of The silence of the international community.

In a press statement, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights said: “In the latest settlement expansion measures, the Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank announced yesterday, Friday, that the settlement subcommittee of the Supreme Planning Council will hold a meeting next Thursday, with the aim of depositing and approving new settlement plans that include 3,988 units. housing in the settlements.

The committee meeting is being held following the approval of the Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, on the settlers' demands to approve new settlement construction projects.

The Center stressed that the construction and settlement expansion operations are illegal, and are considered a war crime, under international humanitarian law, specifically Article (49) of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, which stipulates: to the territory of the occupying power or to the territory of any other country, occupied or not, regardless of its motives.”

The Center considered the settlement one of the war crimes stipulated in Article 8 of the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, whose decision the Palestinians have been awaiting for years to open an investigation into Israeli crimes under its jurisdiction over crimes committed on Palestinian land after its accession to the Charter in 2015.

The Center stressed that the crimes of settlement expansion and forced displacement should not go unpunished and that the absence of accountability only encourages the continued denial of international law, and that the standard of justice should be the same in this world that proves once again that it is governed by interests, and that international law is dominated by interests. Politicians and politicians adapt him to serve them.
