The main focus of my career over the past 12 years has been the structuring and delivery of information. With MindSpring, (a company I was with for 6 years) I worked to establish a single source publishing system using Adobe FrameMaker, XML, PHP, and PERL. The single source system allowed us to write our internal and external documentation once and then automatically publish the information in print, on the web, in PDF and through a fax based help system. It also allowed us to arrange information on the fly and tailor it specifically to a platform or user. This philosophy has become a core focus for me as a freelancer; the idea that in order for a system to function efficiently, it must tailor itself to the individual user and not force the users to tailor themselves to the system. This belief also led me to complete a master's degree in Human Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech in 2008 (at the tender age of 45).
