*Logo Designer — Job Description*
*Role Summary:*
A Logo Designer creates visual marks that capture a brand’s identity in one simple, memorable symbol. The job is less about “making something pretty” and more about solving a branding problem.
*Main Responsibilities*
1. *Client Brief & Research*: Understand the business, audience, competitors, and brand personality before sketching anything.
2. *Concept Creation*: Develop 3-5 unique logo concepts per project. Explore different styles: minimalist, luxury, mascot, wordmark, emblem, etc.
3. *Design & Refinement*: Build logos in vector using Adobe Illustrator/Figma so they stay sharp at any size. Adjust spacing, proportions, balance.
4. *Typography + Color*: Pick fonts and color palettes that match the brand mood and work in both color + black/white.
5. *Client Feedback*: Present mockups, explain design choices, and do revisions based on feedback.
6. *Final Delivery*: Export files in AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG, JPG. Often include a simple brand guide with color codes + logo usage rules.
*Must-Have Skills*
- *Technical*: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, CorelDRAW. Vector + grid systems.
- *Design Theory*: Color theory, typography, negative space, scalability, contrast.
- *Soft Skills*: Client communication, understanding vague briefs, time management, creativity under deadline.
*What Makes a Good Logo Designer*
1. *Memorable*: Logo sticks in someone’s head after 3 seconds.
2. *Versatile*: Works on a tiny app icon AND a shop sign.
3. *Timeless*: Still looks good 5-10 years later, not just trendy today.
4. *Appropriate*: Matches the business. A law firm shouldn’t look like a toy store.
*Tools of the Trade*
Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Canva Pro for mockups, Coolors for palettes, Google Fonts for typography.
