Does your publication need some pizzazz? At my full-time job I'm an engineer, which explains why I prefer writing to people rather than talking to them. In my spare time I like to read, write, work in my woodshop, watch movies with my wife, make fun of my kids, do churchy stuff, spin the aforementioned children in circles until they can't stand upright, and do a number of other things that I rarely have time for. My interests and knowledge are pretty eclectic and far-reaching. I'm willing to bet I'll be the guy your looking for, unless you want to write about biochemistry or marine life.
