Networking and Systems Engineer

$33/hr Starting at $60

I am a highly skilled network engineer with an extremely well founded base in systems engineering. I have been using unix -based and linux -based systems since I was 12 years old. My Microsoft skills are not lacking either. I have an advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks, services and advanced knowledge of operating systems, especially in the field of information security. Network security is my career priority, but I also pay close attention to system security and general hardening. Yes, even web -based services. This is a must as a serious network security researcher as most often the first foothold and attacker will gain, in the real world, is through a web-based application (aside from phishing, which is very common the initial attack against large corporations). I have a very advanced knowledge of malware detection , containment and removal as well. I have done a lot of malware analysis. There is no job too small! Do not be afraid. It's pertinent that I remain familiar with all desktop OSes on top of my knowledge of networking, servers and services (as well as Internet of Things - IoT). This industry moves so quickly, if I don't constantly use everything out there, I risk sitting down at a console and not being able to find anything. My biggest weakness would be graphic design or anything art related. I'm not very good at making things look fancy. I can make a complicated system , efficient and simple to use, but I am not good at logos, graphic design, 3d effects or anything like that. As far as web design goes, I can set you up with a rock solid backend and a clean layout, but you'd want someone else to do the full theme. I always try to respond as quickly as possible. (within 12 hours, I should at least let you know that I received the information and whether I am confident about the project or if my schedule is too busy). I am a bit verbose, I'm not trying to be condescending. I would simply rather give you more information than you need than not enough. This way, if another engineer is working on something I started, you'll have the answers for any questions they may have (I'm also good about leaving comments in programming code and configuration files for them to see). I cut my teeth in a lab of over 2,000 hosts with only 4 of us maintaining it, so common courtesy of comments and notes is something bred right into my professional approach. Thanks for your consideration! Please consider me a serious candidate and have a nice day.
