Piping Stress Analysis

  • Over 15 years of experience in piping stress analysis and management (piping lead engineer) of oil and gas industry projects (refineries, petrochemicals) and power plants.

  • Strong skills in piping stress analysis with CAESAR II, FE Pipe, Nozzle Pro, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience in stress analysis of very high temperature lines and cryogenic lines as well as piping connected to equipment such as: Reformers, Furnaces, Fired Heaters, Centrifugal & Reciprocating Turbines and Compressors, Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Reactors, Towers, Pumps, Tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.

  • Highly experienced in preparing all documents related to piping stress analysis including but not limited to:

- Single Line Diagram (SLD) load information

- Stress analysis reports and stress iso drawings

- Spring / Rigid Strut / Snubber / Expansion joint data sheets

- Tower, Vessel, Column Clip List (Load information for supports)

- Pipe support selection and design

  • Highly experienced in preparing specifications i.e. "Piping Flexibility Analysis Spec." , "Piping Support Spec." , etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Codes and Standards; ASME B31.1 & B31.3, API and ASTM standards.
  • Worked in a wide range of projects including but not limited to all units of Refineries, Methanol Plants, Olefin Plants, LDPE/HDPE Plants, Power Plants, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of team.

  • Experienced in working with international engineering firms.

  • Software Skills: 

- Finite Element Solvers: ANSYS, ABAQUS.

- Piping Finite Element Analysis: CAESAR II, FEPipe, NozzlePRO

- Design & Engineering: AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, AVEVA PDMS, AVEVA E3D, Navisworks

- Programming: Visual Basic, MATLAB.

- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
