I am an American who has lived in Brazil with Brazilians for 2 years. I took 16 college credits of Portuguese at Brigham Young University (BYU). I already have experience as a translator for Pachyonychia Congenita Project. The job entailed making 3-way calls consisting of myself and two doctors (one spoke English, the other; Portuguese.) I would translate what each doctor had to say concerning methods of treatment for Pachyonychia Congenita and other foot related ailments. I would also translate e-mails between doctors in the project. I have a lot of Brazilian friends that will be able to ensure that my translation work is done best.
