Public advocacy and political reform have driven my writing efforts in the past. Starting with news articles for local papers, I moved to more persuasive opinion pieces that were picked up by national groups for use in various outlets. By coaching others, I have helped letter-writing campaigns and have helped groups organize public statements. My academic experiences led to publishing in such areas as: accounting, law, and economics. My studies have turned to the religious and so have my publications. Becoming a pastoral counselor has focused my work most recently on mental health issues. My work to date is informed by a doctoral level of education in several fields as well as a genuine interest in reaching audiences where they are. My years as a professor helped me appreciate the importance of individual voices even within the technical requirements of professional writing.
