Although I have no educational qualifications pertaining to this skill, I am a native English speaker. I consider myself self-taught with regards to grammar, spelling and punctuation. I have been editing and proofreading at an amateur level for most of my adult life, as I have always been a voracious reader. My friends and colleagues often come to me when they need an editing or proof reading skill set. My work as a hair salon manager occasionally calls for marketing and social media blurbs etc. my current project is to rewrite the website biographies for my team members. So although proofreading and editing isn’t my first vocation, it is what I would be doing if my first vocation didn’t work out.
