This is generally performed after editing, as the final step before publication. Basic Copyediting is also known as 'baseline editing', the most basic level of editing that I provide. I pay attention to inconsistencies in spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as noting errors in headings and page layout. This service focuses on consistency of mechanics, such as dates, number sequencing, capitalization, references, specialised terms, along with overall flow and clarity. This is performed before the final proofreading step. My rate is $120USD per 10,000 words.
