Having an eye for detail is key in being a successful proofreader and editor. I feel as though I am constantly proofreading, whether it be a social media post or even a published magazine I dissect every word for accuracy. Are they conveying the message they were trying to? They mispelled a word in a textbook. The constant battle on social media; is it there or their? I read through sentence by sentence checking for spelling and punctuation. As I finish a paragraph I go back to the top and check for grammar and make suggestions on better ways to say certain things. After I go sentence by sentence and then paragraph by paragraph, I read the entire piece from top to bottom making notes on things I might have missed making sure I am as thorough as possible.
