I have completed initial proofreading and copy editing training with the College of Media and Publishing, UK. I am an Entry-Level Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, with opportunities for further training and entering forums with them, which I intend to take up, in line with their progression process. Over time, this can lead to their advanced professional membership. I have just completed the proofreading wishes, of a gentleman in Texas, who is self-publishing his own book. He is putting together a review of my work as I write this statement. I have also completed proofreading exercises for a UK national organization committed to providing befriending opportunities for isolated people in their own homes. They, too, have been pleased with my work. I am retired and wishing to supplement my state pension. My priority is to provide a professional service, at an affordable rate, well within the timescales the client requires. Over my full working life, I have had around 15 years in nursing, 15 around years in social work and 15 around years as a truck driver. Consequently, I am familiar with, (and can relate to) many areas of professional work. I am particularly familiar with writing long, complex, and professional reports, to a high standard. I am especially interested in proofreading in the academic arena. I have just finished completing some proofreading for a gentleman in Texas, and am awaiting his review, which I can then add to this profile. I have also completed some proofreading work for a (UK) national charity, whose work is all about securing visiting befrienders for individuals isolated in their own homes. They have also written of their satisfaction with my work.
