  • Use word processors and other specialized software such as the InDesign program for editing and CMS to make changes to typeset documents.
  • Use of different style guides such as AMA, AP, APA, Chicago, CSE, and MLA, in considering the overall intent and design of the content in a document or digital file.
  • Liaise with writers and editors to determine the composition of specific texts in a document and maintain up-to-date knowledge of new terminologies, as well as changes in language standards. 
  • Compare typeset proofs against the original copy to identify errors or omissions so as to ensure the text meets the tone and character count outlined by company policies as well as meet proofreading deadlines
