Jon recently graduated with national honors from Utah Valley University with a bachelor's in Public Relations. He recently served as the 2016–2017 vice president of member services for the Public Relations Student Societ of America (PRSSA), an annual designation only offered to 9 students worldwide. His involvement with PRSSA has brought national awards, attention, and honors to Utah Valley and has put UVU on the map. Before transferring to UVU, Jon obtained his associate degree in business with an associate certificate in accounting at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. Jon is an award-winning graduate and has taken top honors representing UVU in national competitions, conferences, and assemblies. Jon received the award for UVU PRSSA’s Inspiring Newcomer in 2015, Outstanding Public Relations Student of the Year in 2016, PR Allstar in 2017 and was a finalist for Utah Valley's Student of the Year in 2017. Jon previously worked with online outdoor gear retailer, Cotopaxi, interned with Spectrum Science Communications, Inc. in Washington, D.C., and served as the Wolverine Public Relations Student-run Firm student director (manager). Jon started at CBC Advisors as a public relations intern. He's a distinguished Tagalog (Filipino) speaker and has an exceptional background in developing comprehensive materials used to learn and speak the language.
