Redrawn Central New York congressional districts unveiled: A court-appointed expert on Monday issued draft maps for a new House district that would span three counties in Central New York and give both major political parties a fair shot at capturing the seat in November. The new CNY district would link the cities of Syracuse, Utica and Rome, combining parts of districts now represented by two Republicans — Reps. John Katko and Claudia Tenney. If the draft maps are approved, it would set off a scramble among candidates who would have to quickly decide where to run for Congress.
