On the Tesla Giga Berlin site, a few concept cars were seen, which appeared in new colors in Mercury Silver Metallic and a color called the new Deep Crimson Multicoat
According to media reports, the upgrade of the Tesla Giga Berlin-Brandenburg plant in Grünhead near Berlin, Germany, has now been completed.
Earlier, Tesla had halted production of the Model Y for about two weeks in order to work on improving production processes and reducing time at certain manufacturing plants.
Now, with the upgrade complete, the production rate is expected to be raised again to a much higher level than the previously achieved level of 1,000 units per week.
Describing the latest video of the factory using a drone camera, Tobias Lind reports that Tesla has already produced on site a Model Y with a one-piece front molding and a Model Y with a single engine RWD, as well as a Model Y with a white interior. These are signs of progress toward production All kinds of Model Y made in Germany.
Not only that, the Model Y is also produced with a chassis battery and Type 4680 battery cell using parts from Texas, while the paint shop is testing new colors: Mercury Silver Metallic and Deep Crimson Multicoat, in addition to the initially produced standard black and white.
Tesla introduced new colors at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg in October 2021, according to information in the Tesla app, there are three new colors in the production line and manufacturing:
Deep Crimson Multi-coat personally previewed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk on a Tesla Model S in 2020.
Another color called Abyss Blue is multi-coat, shiny silver, and now we can see the test cars in the new Deep Crimson Multi-coat color in the video at 20:18, as well as at 21:51.
The new colors are expected to increase interest in Tesla cars, which have so far been offered in only five colours, none of which were as advanced as the new colours.
Tesla's Drive website mentioned that some experimental vehicles will be sent to the United States to check their performance and the efficiency of the new colors.
However, only time will tell when exactly the new colors will be available and at what potential additional cost, compared to standard black and white colors.
