In my practice as an editor, marketing strategist and public relations writer, my strength is analyzing the intended audience and tailoring the message to bring desired feedback and results. My business clients have been pleased with my "cut to the chase" dynamic and my ethical, straightforward approach. As a creative writer of nonfiction (and fiction), my strength is examining an issue/situation in a new way; turning a lens on a subject that presents it in a different light. I call it my "cubist" approach; in the manner of Braque and Picasso, I can present different perspectives that are at once accessible and fresh. In fiction, a reader must buy into the spin created by the writer. When the writer over explains and gets virtuoso with language, the spell of the story is broken. Readers feel that they are led too deliberately down the path instead of being enticed to turn the page.
